Admission Qualification:
Course Name: M. Sc. IT (MSCIT)
Duration of Course:- 2 Years
Admission to First Semester
Admission is open to those candidates who have successfully completed their Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University with mathematics in 10+2
Or
Admission is open to those candidates who have successfully completed their Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University and have either completed their 6 months course in IT/Computer Applications or have one year IT experience.
Leteral Entry Scheme
Admission to Second Semester
Admission is open to those candidates who have successfully completed their Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University and have successfully completed four semesters of GNIIT or 2 year certificate course from any recognized institution.
Admission to Third Semester
Admission is open to those candidates who have successfully completed their Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University and has successfully completed PGDCA/PGDIT from a recognised University or BE ( CS / IT ) or GNIIT or PGDCA from Cal-C or BCA/B. Sc ( CS/IT) from a recognised University/DOEACC 'A' level.
Note: The student who will opt for lateral exit will not be able to continue this programme.
Scheme of Examination:-
a. Internal assessment (IA) through assignments with a weightage of 20%
b. Term-end examination having a weightage of 80%
c. Each paper will be of 100 marks
d. Minimum for passing in each course is 40% in each component.
e. Viva Voice and project 100 marks

Note: In 3rd Semester of Msc ( IT ), A candidate has to opt for any one of the three elective streams in addition to the two core courses. The candidate has to continue in the same Elective stream in both the 3rd & 4th semesters as well as do his/her project preferably in his field of Elective Specialisation. Change of elective is not permitted once a candidate has opted for a particular stream.
Guidelines for Choosing Electives:
Stream 1 E-Commerce: Any Graduate can opt for this elective.
Stream 2 Systems & Networking: Basic Knowledge of Electronics is desirable for this elective.
Stream 3 Multimedia & Cognition: Good foundation of mathematics is essential for this elective.
Evaluation System:
The distribution of marks for evaluation in each subject will be as follows:
